Solosis (Japanese: ユニラン Uniran) is a Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It evolves into Duosion starting at level 32, which evolves into Reuniclus starting at level 41.
Biology
Solosis is a round, green Pokémon surrounded by a darker green, gel-like substance. This liquid covering allows Solosis to live under any conditions. Its inner body has dark, oval eyes and a red diamond-shaped mouth. On the upper left side of its head is a curly, yellow growth that resembles the endoplasmic reticulum of a cell. It uses psychic powers to communicate with telepathy, as well as to drive away potential threats.
In the anime
Major appearances
Solosis debuted in Where Did You Go, Audino?, under the ownership of Doyle. It was used to help locate some missing Audino. Upon encountering Ash and his friends, Doyle commanded it to use Psychic on them as he thought they were suspects. Later, it helped up by getting the group over a cliff so that they wouldn't lose sight of Audino. Solosis was then used to battle Team Rocket by using Confuse Ray on Woobat and Night Shade on Yamask.
Multiple Solosis appeared in White—Victini and Zekrom and Black—Victini and Reshiram, under the ownership of Damon.
Minor appearances
In Summer of Discovery!, Foggy Pokémon Orienteering!, and Battling Into the Hall of Fame!, a Trainer's Solosis attended the Pokémon Summer Camp.
A Solosis appeared in Cloudy Fate, Bright Future!, under the ownership of a Psychic.

Trivia
- Solosis is tied with Abra for the highest Special Attack of all unevolved Pokémon.
- Solosis can be seen as a parallel to Gothita. Both are Generation V Psychic-type Pokémon evolving once at level 32 and then again at level 41. Solosis is version-exclusive to Pokémon White, Pokémon White 2, and Pokémon Shield, while Gothita is version-exclusive to Pokémon Black, Pokémon Black 2, and Pokémon Sword. They both have the same base experience and catch rates, gain new moves at similar levels and have base stat totals of 290.
- Solosis and its evolutionary relatives are the only known Pokémon to learn Thunder by TM/TR but not Thunderbolt in every generation they appear in.
Origin
Solosis and the rest of its evolutionary line seem to bear reference to cells, with the head representing the nucleus, the green substance surrounding their bodies resembling cytoplasm and the objects inside their bodies representing organelles. The line down its head also resembles a cleavage furrow in cell biology. It may also make allusion to the embryonary stages, specifically the stage of morula.
Name origin
Solosis may be a combination of solo (singular) and meiosis or mitosis (cell division).
Uniran may be a combination of uni (prefix meaning one) and 卵 ran (spawn). It may also refer to se unirán (Spanish for "they will join together"), as Solosis appears to be made of two parts.
